Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage or MLD, is a very gentle manual treatment that improves the function of the lymphatic system throughout the body. It is a specific, light, skin-stretching massage technique based on the methods developed by Dr. Emil Vodder. MLD enhances lymph formation and promotes drainage within the superficial and deep lymphatic networks, helping to re-route lymph flow around blocked or “congested” areas and into healthy lymph vessels. It is a key component of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) for treating lymphedema, and is also effective for other conditions involving edema, such as post-surgical swelling and post-traumatic injuries.

MLD can help:

  • Reduce Swelling and Edema

  • Support Immune Function

  • Promote Stress Reduction and Relaxation

  • Support pre/post op procedures including cosmetic surgery

  • Promote Recover of accidents such as MVA, whiplash, falls, etc.

  • Chronic Pain management

  • Regulates Nervous System that may affect PTSD, anxiety, and insomnia

  • Reduce Headaches and Migraines
